Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Resource Development and Operations, the Resource Development Manager will be responsible for executing the Resource Development Plan as it applies to fundraising events and other initiatives to support the resource development budget. This position is also expected to support the overall operation of Harford Family House when needed. Certain tasks may be asked that do not fall into the essential functions of this job.
Essential Functions
- Meet fundraising goals for special fundraising events, including securing sponsorships, promoting ticket sales, securing auction items, and managing other fundraising activities before and during the events.
- Raise financial support by working with event committees and developing and maintaining strategic funding events run by outside businesses and organizations.
- Recruit, supervise, and manage fundraising event committees, including providing materials and support to committee volunteers to secure financial and in-kind donations and managing all event logistics.
- Maintain relationships with current corporate sponsors while also recruiting new corporate sponsors.
- Secure and manage relationships with all event-related vendors, including caterers, entertainment, rental supplies, and other vendors needed to implement events successfully.
- Work as a member of the Resource Development Team to plan the annual budget specific to fundraising events and corporate giving.
- Participating as an active member of the Resource Development Team.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other related duties.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, & Teams
- Ability to research, know, and connect with major donors in the regional area
- Ability to work on multiple projects
- Ability to supervise and manage a team of volunteers
- Ability to become proficient in company and job-related technology
- Keeps current in event management, fundraising trends, and best practices

Physical Demands
This is mostly a sedentary role with an occasional active walking or standing role during events. Bending, stooping, and reaching may be needed for filing and using office technology. Finger dexterity is needed for keyboard typing. Lifting up to 25 lbs for office and event supplies is also required.
Travel/Schedule
This Job often travels regionally using a personal vehicle. Some weekend and evening work is required. Some work will be conducted off-site and at various locations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or related experience.
- 1- 3 years’ experience in event management, preferably at a nonprofit organization.
- Familiarity with donor management software.
