SUMMARY:Homelessness Awareness Month Art Contest
DESCRIPTION:November is Homelessness Awareness Month and this year’s theme is “It’s Bigger Than Us – Investing in the Future of Our Community.” In that vein\, we are hoping to recruit various segments of the community to help spread awareness—including those in The Arts— as the implications of homelessness in our community affect us all.\nWe are excited to announce an art contest throughout the month of November and will be selecting 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place winners. (Prizes included!) All non-political interpretations of the theme of homelessness are welcome\, and all mediums are welcome. Submissions will be shared throughout the month on our social media pages\, in December’s HFH newsletter\, and more.\n\nPlease submit your entry by November 26\, 2023 to Vashelle Nino at vnino@harfordfamilyhouse.org.\n\n1st Place Prize – $100\n2nd Place Prize – $50\n3rd Place Prize – $25\n\nThank you for your participation!

DESCRIPTION:ATTENTION LOCAL FAITH-BASED COMMUNITIES\, BUSINESSES\, SCHOOLS\, SPORTS TEAMS\, AND GROUPS OF ALL SORTS!\nNovember is Homelessness Awareness Month and this year’s theme is “It’s Bigger Than Us – Investing in the Future of Our Community.” In that vein\, we are hoping to recruit various segments of the community to help spread awareness\, as the implications of homelessness in our community affect us all.\n\nLast fiscal year we served 39 families (including 81 children) and 360 individuals (including 27 veterans). As you may know\, it takes a lot of resources to get our residents on their feet and on the path to long-term independence and stable housing\, and much of their immediate needs are the simple things we take for granted. Would you be willing to help us?\n\nWe are asking local faith-based communities\, businesses\, schools\, sports teams\, and groups of all sorts to host supply drives throughout the month of November. Our current supply needs are listed here: https://harfordfamilyhouse.org/how-you-can-help/wish-list/\n\nOne more\, exciting thing. We have designated November 28th as the official donation-drop off day.
