I have been involved with Harford Family House for over a decade. I have emceed Harford’s Most Beautiful Baby for many years, I collect purse donations every year from members of the media for the Hope in Handbags event and last year was named honorary chairperson. I have featured Harford Family House on ‘Harford MagaScene’, have emceed the organization’s annual Volunteer Appreciation breakfast and I also record the yearly commercial for Ahoy! Cocktails by the Bay.
Why do I do it, you ask? I do it because I believe in it and I truly admire the passion and dedication of the staff and volunteers of Harford Family House. Robin Tomechko has become a good friend of mine and she works so hard to raise the money to help our Harford County families with children experiencing homelessness. As a mother it pains me to see children who are in need, parents who are having a hard time making ends meet but most importantly I don’t want to see families separated. Harford Family House gives these families hope and puts them on the road to self-sufficiency. Over the years I have met several people who have gone through the program and are now leading successful lives. Who would not want to be part of that? Harford Family House makes happy endings for our families in need and every donation, every contribution, every effort makes a difference. I want to be part of the solution and thank those involved with the organization for their dedication to this important cause.
